# Get chat conversation

GET https://astropods.com/api/v1/deployments/{deploymentId}/chat/conversations/{conversationId}

Returns one conversation's thread (messages in order) plus `assistant_streaming`
(true while an assistant reply is still being persisted). Omit `limit` for the full
thread; pass `limit` for the tail and `before_seq` to page older messages. When a page
is returned, `has_more` and `oldest_seq` describe the remaining history.

## Authentication

- `Authorization` header (bearer token, required) — OAuth 2.0 device flow or platform session token

## Request

### Path parameters

- `deploymentId` (string, required) — Deployment ID
- `conversationId` (string, required) — Conversation ID (client-chosen UUID v4)

### Query parameters

- `limit` (integer, optional) — Return only the most recent N messages (tail). Omit for the full thread.
- `before_seq` (integer, optional) — Return messages older than this sequence number (pagination cursor).
